This year Powburn Show will take place on Saturday 4th August 2018 from 9 a.m. and the sheep dog trials will be held on Saturday 21st July from 9 a.m. This year it will be held at Brandon Whitehouse due to Roy Dods taking on the role of the Sheepdog Trial Secretary.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Suzanne Horn for her hard work as previous chair person and welcome Bev Wood as our new chairperson. Thanks, must also go to all non-committee members who kindly give up their time on and before the show day.
The Powburn Hill Race will once again start at the earlier time of 11 a.m. from the rear of the marquee. The access road to and from the marquee will be closed for 15 minutes before and after the race for the safety of the runners. This attracted many competitors from in and out of the area last year, there was more than 70 runners. Well done to all who participated.
Ross McNeil, the chainsaw carver will return, and his creation will be raffled off at the end of the day.
Last year we had a good turnout of vintage cars/vehicles and are looking forward to their return.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our advertisers and sponsors, notably NE Concrete, Penny Petroleum and A&J Scott for their continued support and to Nigel Dods for the continued use of his field.
New for this year we have a circus workshop for children to participate, this is free for them to make and take. Along with our usual sports and face painting.
Finally, we will look forward to seeing you on the day and hope the weather is kind to us. Powburn Show will kick off the show season, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
